Businesses

We Love

We believe success is not finite and when we have an opportunity to prop up those around us, we should take that privilege and do as much good as possible with it.

Here are some businesses, groups, and individuals who we look up to and believe have a positive impact on our community.

  • Bløm Meadworks located downtown creates incredible meads and ciders. Lauren (owner) was incredibly generous with her time when I needed advice and a brain to pick.

Swing by their shop for amazing swag, great meads, and some awesome programming.

  • I have been friends with the owners of Cahoots for nearly a decade. During that time, they supported me through my maternity leave, created an incredibly welcoming coworking space that donates space to Shine & Rise, a women in business group, AND the Executive Director Chelsea, has been an incredibly important advisor and ally to parents through out the many stages of brainstorming for Recess.

  • Wildscape Floral Co. is a women-owned small business specializing in high-end floral installments for weddings and events.

Chelsea's passion for her work and sustainable practices is truly an inspiration and her ability to harness the intersection of art and nature in her installments is one of a kind.

  • Shine & Rise is a group of over 500 focused on bolstering and elevating women and nonbinary folks in the start-up and tech industries.

The groups hosts free, in person coworking days, book clubs, annual events, and more.

  • Celeste and Patricia are everything expecting parents should look for in a midwife. They embrace modern science, but understand that pregnancy doesn't always require intervention.

Their love, support, and professionalism is unmatched.

  • The Little Seedling is a staple in the Ann Arbor community for everything diapers, strollers, and overall kid related.

The owner, Molly, was one of the first people I met with to explore the concept of Recess and her willingness to volunteer her time was an incredible gift.
